Storm Arwen Impact Survey
Storm Arwen Impact Survey

5 minute survey on the impact of Storm Arwen on residents.

In late November 2021, Storm Arwen caused major disruption across the North East & Cumbria, with severe damage to electrical infrastructure resulting in over 240,000 residents in the region being left without power.  As a consequence of the severe disruption that many of my constituents experienced, I am asking for your feedback on the problems you personally experienced and to gather your views on what lessons should be learned.
Northern Power Grid (NPG) are the electrical distribution company responsible for ensuring that households across the North East and Yorkshire have access to the electricity they purchase from their chosen supplier. Repairs to damaged electrical infrastructure, and compensation are the responsibility of Northern Power Grid and therefore I am keen to ensure that YOUR views are fed back to those in positions of authority.
Your experiences and feedback will be vital as part of wider research to understand the disruption caused by Storm Arwen to County Durham, why this happened, and what measures need to be adopted nationally and locally to build resilience and ensure the same does not happen again.

This survey is open until 20th February 2022.
